Svaroopa® Yoga (“svah-roo-pah” – Sanskrit word, which means the bliss of your own being) is based on a dramatically and significally different approach to the body than any other forms of exercise or yoga practice.

Svaroopa® Yoga focuses on releasing the body’s most deeply embedded tensions in the muscles wrapped around and connected to the spine.

The practice is deceptively easy and amazingly powerful. A typical class begins with a guided relaxation in Shavasana (“relaxation pose”) with light breathing exercises. It’s followed by a series of poses that enable a deeper release in muscle tension while using props such as thick blankets, yoga blocks, and a chair for support. We begin by releasing the tight muscles around the tailbone and then carrying the changes up through each area of the spine.
The practice ends with another guided relaxation.

As the deep core muscles begin to release and spine begins to decompress, you experience profound physical healing, discover a new level of mental and emotional clarity, and dissolve in deeply satisfying inner peace.

Svaroopa® is a very approachable style of yoga and can help heal many types of injuries and illnesses.

Svaroopa® Yoga was developed by Rama Berch, RYT, who is a founder of Master Yoga Foundation and founding President of the Yoga Alliance.
